Why we collect it
We collect and use personal information to assess, document, advance and administer lending; to communicate with brokers, advisers and their clients; to conduct credit assessment; to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including customer due diligence under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009; and to protect and enforce our security and legal rights.
Customer due diligence
As a reporting entity under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009, we are required to verify the identity of our customers and, in some cases, of beneficial owners and persons acting on their behalf. We may collect identity and source of funds information for this purpose and may be required to retain it and to report certain matters, whether or not a transaction proceeds.
Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to: solicitors and valuers acting on a transaction; brokers and advisers involved in the enquiry; credit reporters and referees; any prior-ranking or incoming financier in connection with a priority arrangement; our professional advisers; and government agencies, regulators or law enforcement where we are required or permitted by law.
